Joining a waitlist

When a paid ticket type is sold out, the organiser may offer a waitlist on the event booking page. This page explains how to join and what to expect.

What this means

A waitlist records your interest when that ticket type has no places left. Joining the waitlist does not book or buy a ticket, and it does not guarantee you will get one.

Free RSVP events can use a separate waitlist system. The steps below apply to paid ticket waitlists on the event book page (for example /event/123/book).

How to join

  1. Open the event page and go to the booking page for tickets.
  2. If a ticket type is sold out and a waitlist is available, you will see Sold out — join a waitlist for that type.
  3. Enter the email address you check regularly and how many tickets you want.
  4. Select Join waitlist.
  5. You should see a confirmation message, such as that you are on the waitlist (sometimes with a position number).

What happens next

After you join, your details are stored as a waitlist entry. No order or payment is created at this step.

If the organiser has enabled automatic offers for that ticket type and places become available, MyEventLane may give you a way to complete purchase within a limited time (for example a link from the booking page or an email). Offers are not automatic on every event, and we cannot guarantee you will receive one.

If you receive an offer, complete checkout promptly. Offers may expire.

What it does not mean

  • You do not have a ticket until you complete a successful purchase while tickets are available.
  • Joining does not charge your card or create a booking by itself.
  • RSVP waitlists for free events are separate from paid ticket waitlists on the book page.

If it still does not work

If you cannot see a waitlist option, the ticket type may not be sold out, waitlist may not be enabled, or the waitlist may be full. Check the event page again later.

Contact the organiser through the event page if contact details are listed. Otherwise contact MyEventLane support with the event name, date, and the email you used.
